Dear Customers,

While we are looking ahead to the exciting holidays that bring the hustle and bustle of party preparations and gift giving, we also want to recognize the importance of taking time to remember all those that have served and are serving our country.

A time to reflect and be grateful.

From the bottom of our hearts and at the core of who we are as Canadians, we hold dear the rights and freedoms that we possess. It is because of these freedoms that we should meditate upon and be grateful for the men and women who have served our country – the men and women who have stood on guard to preserve our way of life.

After our moment of silence this Sunday, Novmeber 11th, we welcome you to join us for a slice of cake in our Studio as we commemorate this special day together.

Event reminders…

Murray in the Studio

Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Murray will be in the Studio serving lovely foods that involve products found within the store. Be sure to stop by to partake in his wonderful food tastings. Murray’s foods to inspire will be offered within our Studio every Saturday until Christmas. You might even see him on Fridays from time to time as he prepares food in our kitchen.

Entertaining in Style this Holiday Season

While entertaining for the holidays keep in mind that guests should feel pampered in subtle ways by appealing to their senses. Cheese Department

Cathy has been raving about all the interesting and beautiful cheeses that have recently arrived at Herma’s. She is bubbling over with excitement as each shipment arrives for she anticipates they will make holiday entertaining an absolutely lovely experience.

Le Maréchal from Switzerland

If you like gruyere and appenzeller then you will love this flavourful, robust cheese which exhibits a creamy mix of nuts, flowers and herbs. Like other Swiss cheeses, the wheels of Le Maréchal are rubbed with fresh herbs. Pair with figs, fig spread or olives with a nice white wine. This beautiful cheese may also be enjoyed melted as fondue or on raclette for cozy winter experience. Sample Saturday!!

Dubliner Cheddar

Dubliner is an original, award-winning Irish cheese produced in County Cork. Sweet, mild and mature, this cheese takes the nuttiness of a Swiss cheese and combines it with the bite of a Parm. Calcium lactate crystals in the cheese cause the Dubliner to have a high content of calcium. Pair with a full-bodied wine like Cabernet or pint of Guinness. Nice used in sandwiches, pastas or served with fruits like apples and pears.
